Snail-Kite-Man

Hey, I'm Lucas!I'm an 18-year-old Florida man. I love birding and bird photography, as well as philately and collecting stuff. I love birds, and I love birds of prey the most (especially accipitriformes), and my favorite animal of all is the Everglade Snail Kite! You can find some more of my favorite stuff here.

• I have a black belt in Taekwondo
• I have broken my bones 4 times, across 3 different bones.
• I got to pet a Green Anaconda.

Hobbies: Birding/Bird Photography - I regularly take walks around my neighborhood, State Parks, beaches, and more to take some photos of awesome birds!I haven't made a life list yet, but the rarest bird I've got is the Everglade Snail Kite (Male, Paynes Prairie, Jan 1st, 2025). Philately - I'm a topical bird stamp collector, specifically raptors (for now). Currently, I'm attempting to make 3 seperate stamp albumns, one for raptors, one for other birds, and a nautical-themed one with seabirds! I also really enjoy collecting FDCs (also bird-based). My maternal grandma really started my love of stamps, with my first ever stamp being a 2005 Canadian Peregrine Falcon minisheet. You can see my stamp collection here, and my FDC collection here.

Jigsaw Puzzles - I really enjoy doing jigsaw puzzles! Probably one of my oldest hobbies (possibly older than birding), as I used to do them all the time with both of my grandmothers. I usually do 300-1000 pieces depending on company, and I really enjoy doing bird, dragon, and non-bird animal themed puzzles!

Coding (Python, SQL, CSS, and HTML) - Coding is definitely a hobby I picked up in preperation for my future career path (pentesting), but I really enjoy it! It's super fun to code, whether it be a python script or project, some SQL database, or my website. I'm very amateur at coding, but I'm learning more as I further my education! I'm planning on learning BASH, Ruby, and JavaScript in the future, maybe C, C++, and Fortran, too.

Video Games - My favorite games used to be the Pokemon games, or other monster collectors turn-based RPGs (Yokai Watch). Currently my favorite games are tied between Okami and Fallout 4. I have over 100 hours in each currently. Recently, I've been getting more into games like GTA V, Fallout 4, Minecraft, and some other stuff. I'm not the best at most games, but I have a lot of fun (usually playing single player). I do play with my dad and brother (or friends!) sometimes, usually stuff like COD or Minecraft.

Organizing my stuff - Definitely the weirdest hobby on this list (dunno if it even counts). I really enjoy organizing my collections (stamps, CDs, etc), as well as my files. I have a very large photo file directory, where each photo is organized into groups via bird species, then date. Bird categories are organized taxonomically, with each file being nested within it's specific species, genus, family, and so forth, I also like to keep all of my mp3s organized.

Some stuff I want to get into:
Exercise! Definitely want to get muscular and strong, instead of being really scrawny and tiny lol.
Reading - I used to be super into reading as a kid, but unfortuantely stopped a few years back. Definitely want to get back into it, though!
